Bands to Watch: Bleachers

Bleachers is a New York City based Indie Pop act consisting of Jack Antonoff. If you're wondering 

why that name sounds familiar, it's because he is also in the Grammy Award winning band Fun. 

When the first single from his debut album as 'Bleachers' came out in February, there was tons of 

speculation about him leaving Fun. in order to pursue a solo career. However, Antonoff has 

confirmed that he is and will remain happily with the group. 

The project was kept completely under wraps as Antonoff worked on it, hidden from everyone except close friends and family. Then, everything sort of happened at once for this act: the debut single, "I Wanna Get Better" was released on February 18, 2014. That very same day, tour dates were announced, and all social media profiles were launched. Since then, the full album, "Strange Desires" has been released (July 15, 2014- RCA Records), and peaked at number 2 on the US Alternative chart. "I Wanna Get Better" peaked at number 1. 

On Twitter , Bleachers has shot up to 24.2K followers, and he is still touring. Shows have been sold out or close to sold out the entire year. I strongly suggest checking him out, because I've had "I Wanna Get Better" stuck in my head for weeks!
