After a bitter break- up with Creed,
Mark Tremonti called upon his former Creed bandmates bassist Brian Marshall,
drummer Scott Phillips & former Mayfield Four front man, Myles Kennedy.
Together, they would go onto form Alter Bridge in 2004 and build a loyal fan
base around the world. However, Mark has always expressed his love for metal
and the importance of not only mastering your instrument but also mastering the
craft of songwriting. In an interview with Ultimate-Guitar Mark mentions:
“Twenty years from now you're not gonna look back on your life and show your
grandkids this great arpeggio you could play. You're gonna show 'em this song
you wrote or this performance you have on YouTube or whatever it is. The songs
are so important. Mark’s passion for song-writing led him to form Tremonti solo
project with Wolfgang Van Halen on bass, Garrett Whitlock on drums, and Eric
Friedman on rhythm guitar. “Cauterize” is Tremonti’s sophomore album and they
are currently taking a short break from touring.

Tracks:
1.)
Another Heart- This is the
leading single off the album, catchy chorus, and immediately demonstrates how
much Mark’s vocals have improved since debut album “All I Was.” You can support
for the album by pushing the this single and requesting it on SiriusXM-
call “888-3-OCTANE”
2.)
Sympathy- This song
could’ve easily been referring to any “friend” Mark might have had in the past
but I have a feeling this song might have been directed at his former bandmate
Scott Stapp. The song has a very reflective tone to it that anyone can relate
to, it’s basically how years later you can see how someone’s life turned out
after they screwed over a lot of people or made some poor choices.
3.)
Fall Again- In the past Mark has admitted
that he’s agnostic hinting that he struggles with his faith. I like this song
because if you pay attention closely to the lyrics it’s about doing what’s
right but struggling because you are seeing others doing the wrong thing and
it’s tempting to simply not care and do whatever you please
