A Look Ahead to Louder Than Life 2015

Words by: Summer Hartley

This October 3rd and 4th, Louisville, KY will host Louder Than Life, a celebration of this region’s culture and cuisine. Louder than Life is in its second year of festivities after being created last year by Danny Wimmer through Danny Wimmer Presents, who also produces some of the greatest festivals across the US such as Rock On The Range, Monster Energy’s Welcome to Rockville, and Monster Energy’s AFTERSHOCK Festival.

Along with a package of exceptional food (also known as Gourmet Man Food) and the finest bourbons and spirits Kentucky can offer comes a kickass music lineup of some of the greatest rock legends, all packed into two days of insanity. These legends will include Breaking Benjamin, Rob Zombie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bring Me The Horizon, and many more.

Louder Than Life is great example of what Kentucky has to offer not only in terms of excellent food and alcohol, but also the support of the city for an excellent music scene. Louder Than Life has an atmosphere unlike any other, as I experienced firsthand last year. The festival contains something for everyone; whether you’re a food addict, into fine bourbon, or a music junkie, Louder Than Life 2015 will cater to your utmost desires.

“Louisville is home to some of the world’s best music and food and there’s definitely only one area to come to for bourbon, so where else would you have a festival experience such as Louder Than Life?” says Greg Fischer, Louisville’s mayor, in an official press release. “We’re excited that we can host this great event is such a super venue down by our waterfront and show all the music, food and bourbon fans what our city and people are all about.”

Louder Than Life 2015 will feature four stages for 47 bands to perform on in Champions Park in downtown Louisville, as well as more than 70 vendors of food and beverage catering to the crowds. A list of vendors and bands playing Louder Than Life can be found at their website, as well as the daily band lineups. You can also purchase 2-Day general admission (GA) tickets on their website for $99.50, or Single Day GA tickets for $69.50.

Need a place to stay while in Louisville for the fun? Have no fear! Louder Than Life offers a Car Camping pass for $85, so you can camp next to your car from Friday to Sunday with access to shower facilities and an on-site store. Pack up the tent and bring your beer (but only two cases of aluminum cans or bottles, please). Or, if you plan on taking the wife and best friends on a cross-country road trip in your RV to Louder Than Life, you can also purchase an RV Camping pass for $99.

Last year, Louder Than Life experienced a turnout of more than 40,000 people from across the globe to experience one of the greatest festivals in this region. You can check out the 2014 video recap of Louder Than Life here.

Let’s make it just as epic this year! It’s worth every penny, I promise.
