Meghan Trainor. Her quaintness is her ability to do a nod to vintage girl groups, with some doo-wop to hip hop attitude at the same time. Letting girls know to love the body you have.
Peers in the business thought that this fresh pop face would be a one hit wonder with "All About That Bass". It ruled the Billboard Hot 100 last summer and fall. This song not only jived with pre teens, but with their parents as well. Just as we were learning the words to this song, she hit No.4 on the charts with "Lips Are Movin'," the best part of this song are the words " Tell me that you're not all about this bass". Letting girls know that if guys are all about that bass, then they are shallow lovers and to keep loving your body. Close to call this song Bass no2.
Title is a great album which is oddly enough the name of a four song EP she released in September. What people should know is, that this album is about self empowerment and sass. Meghan Trainor will go far in this business. And as the years go by, she will mature into more adult songs. But for now, all girls should love their bodies no matter what. As everyone is beautiful in their own way.
The list of songs on this album are, All About That Bass, Lips Are Movin, Dear Future Husband (one of my favs on this album), Title, Close Your Eyes, The Best Part (Interlude), Like I'm Gonna Lose You, Bang Dem Sticks, No Good For You, Walkashame, Mr. Almost, What If I, Credit, My Selfish Heart, I'll Be Home. Take a listen and decide for yourself what songs that you like. Do you go for her vintage girl group style, or her hip hop attitude?
