Concert Review: Shadow of Whales at South By So What?!

As soon as alternative indie pop band Shadow of Whales took the stage, I knew South by So What had kicked off in the best way possible. Not only were they Austin, Texas natives playing South by So What, Shadow of Whales showed the rain soaked attendees that no matter what type of day you're having great music can make it better.

Playing songs off their self-titled EP this band played with heart. Playing the Third String Festival Stage, they drew in a large crowd!  Between the catchy lyrics and the upbeat rhythm Shadow of Whales allowed everyone to get outside of whatever could have been bothering them and enjoy the lovely music. Sadly, they only had a twenty minute set, but they made sure they used every moment to their fullest advantage. I hope to catch they again on their short tour they have coming up these next few months.

Shadows of Whales consist of Vocalist Joshua Flores, drummer Caleb Flores, lead guitarist Chris Fraga, bassist Jeremy Boyum, and keyboardist JD Vazquez.  On their website Shadow of Whales stated they are in the studio creating their second EP, definitely something I can’t wait for!
