Take your Time – Sam Hunt’s voice is genuinely shown in his songs, he puts a lot of emotions into his songs. A lot of the time it’s near impossible for me to listen to country music, but I really enjoy this album. Although the message in the song is nothing new to us, there’s a sense of new meaning in the tone.
Leave the Night On – One of the more upbeat songs on the album, Leave the Night On is a “get-up-and-dance” type of song style. It’s not rowdy, but it is a good time. The way he tells the story of this song just makes you fall in love with his music.
House Party – The idea of a regular “house party” is crushed in the simple but creative music video for this song. There’s minimal drinking, and everyone’s just truly enjoying themselves. To have a great time and be fully aware for it is a rare thing for us to see, and I love how he portrays himself for this song.
Break up in a Small Town – This song really hit close to home with me, I found that it really felt a lot like this for me. When you live in a small town it’s nearly impossible to avoid having to see each other… All the time. I barely go anywhere were I don’t see my ex. Just being able to connect this song with my life gave this album a more realistic perspective for me.
Single for the Summer – Sam Hunt’s ability to write a song about parties and girls, but also create a sentimental feel is something that will constantly amaze me. The way he puts his entirety into his songs completely overwhelms you, but he also creates great songs to have a good time with.
Ex to See – Girl’s like to play games, and when you’re into someone who gets over you faster than you expect, well… you want to show off. That’s what this song is about, and it’s told with impeccable lyrics. I’m sure we can all admit to playing thi card ladies.
Make you Miss Me – Losing people you want to keep is one of the most painful things you can go through, and you’re going to try your hardest to get them back into your life. Drawing them back in and getting them to miss you just as much as you miss them. You pull yourselves towards each other again.
Cop Car- This song was the first Sam Hunt song that I ever heard, and I sort of just pushed it off. I never really listened to it or gave it much of my interest or thought. Even though it’s not the best song on the album, it has one of the best stories. The idea of adventure and thrill makes for another great Sam Hunt song.
Raised on It – Growing up in a small town means there’s not a whole lot to do besides run around, and ride. Every weekends full of beer, big trucks, and four-wheeler rides. It’s both a great and terrible way to live. Your friends will never be boring, but you’ll always be bored.
Speakers – We all have someone who has meant a lot to us, and maybe they never where exactly “yours” but they always felt like the person you connected with deeply. You can’t get enough of them, and the feeling you get when you’re together is this song.
