Review: Nothin' Left to Lose by Meghann Wright
Review by: Savanah Ruiz
Hi, everybody! This week I not only have the pleasure of reviewing Meghann Wright and her album Nothin’ Left To Lose, but if all goes as planned I will be interviewing her. Meghann Wright is an independant artist who is known for her part in the compilation CD The City and the Heart, along with her own music which features a new spin to blues rock. Nothin’ Left To Lose is Meghann’s first full length album, and it is unlike anything I’ve ever heard. While this album isn’t my usual genre, I love it just as much as the rest of my music collection, and I can’t wait for warped tour to come to my state this Saturday so I can pick up a physical copy of this album. This album not only features new tracks, but has some of Meghann’s classics such as Cocaine and Left My Heart In Brooklyn. I really love the guitars in this album, along with the great lyrics and vocals. This album, has a slowness to it, making it the perfect album for a calm night of relaxing, drinking, and dancing with a special someone. Some of my favorite tracks off this album are Vacancy, Diamonds Blaze, and Secrets. All in all, this album definitely does not dissapoint, and I’m so excited to see some of these songs performed live. You can check out Meghann Wright all summer long on the Vans Warped Tour, and she will be performing at the Acoustic Basement stage as well as selling Nothin’ Left To Lose.
