Hey readers!
Just a couple of quick updates for today:
- I am catching up on some posts this week, so there will be a ton of new content!
- ShuffleBeat now has a team of bloggers! They will be helping me out with playlists and album reviews. This is completely new, so once I get everybody oriented, I'll have an update with an intro to the new bloggers.
-In addition, we will be rolling out some social media pages specific to this blog, so be on the lookout for that update in the coming weeks.
I'm really looking forward to the upcoming changes, so stay tuned!

Announcements!
Hello hello!
Just a few updates from today:
-I've done a few more interviews, in fact I just did one about an hour ago. Those will be out soon!
- At the current moment, I'm typing this on my tablet while waiting for what is quite possibly the coolest thing to happen in Rochester for years: we were picked by Pepsi as the "Most hyped hometown in America" and in return, we get a free concert from Nico & Vinz, the duo responsible for the hit 'Am I Wrong.' There will be a pretty lengthly concert review out this Saturday about it!
-Also, I am looking for someone to help me out with this blog! You'd just write a couple of album reviews per month (of your choice) and contribute a few songs to the playlists. I have started working full time in addition to being a full time student, so running this on my own is no longer possible. If you are interested, email me at shufflebeatblog@gmail.com! This is unpaid, but I promise it's fun!

My Year in Review
I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet, but I just wanted to reflect on my journey into the music industry since May of this year to now, and set some goals for next year.
When I started out back in May, I only vaguely had an idea of what I wanted to do in the industry. I still haven't narrowed it down to a fine point yet, but I know that I want to work my way up to being a manager of some kind. Whether I decide to go along with that as a tour manager or work my way up in a record label, I'm not sure yet honestly. But I feel like I've learned so much and grown from where I started.
By the end of the summer, I was an intern with the Caring Music Group and XL Recordings, a member of the Fearless Records street team, a music blogger/social media coordinator at Open Our Eyes and I was working for the Syndicate. I tried to get into a little bit of everything, and even though it put a lot on my plate, I think that is where a lot of my growth this year came from. I learned about the things that I enjoyed doing and the things that I wasn't cut out for.
I stand here at the end of this year with a lighter plate, but a promising new year. I no longer intern with the Caring Music Group, I cut back my time with XL Recordings and I will be using 2015 to really hone in on some different things. I'm going to be putting more time into this blog, more time in at Open Our Eyes, keeping up with my Fearless assignments, and I'm a new writer for UMusicians, which will be linked in the side bar once everything switches over the first of the year.
With all that said, some of my goals for 2015 are:
-Get as close to 10,000 views on this blog as we can.
- Improve my style of interviewing
-Do things as often as possible to get me closer to my career goal.
-Make more connections in the industry.
-Go to more concerts (local and otherwise).
I hope all of you had lovely holidays, and have a safe new year! There will be a "Year in Review" playlist up tomorrow with some of my favorites of 2014 (it's scheduled to go up at noon Eastern Time).
See you in 2015!!
xx

Blog Updates for this week + the New Year
Hey everyone!
As you've probably noticed, I have not been posting the past couple of weeks. I've been taking some time to really focus on what I want to do with this blog and how I want to proceed. So with that in mind, I did some interviews, and came up with a plan for how the blog will run after the new year. Also, there are a few more posts coming between now and the new year, so things will go as follows:
Before the New Year
- There is two more playlists: a road trip playlist which will come out tomorrow as people hit the road for the holidays! I know it's not a Sunday, but we can pretend. The second one will come out on Sunday (December 28), and will be my favorites from this year.
-There will be one last post out later this week- maybe Friday or Saturday- with a year in review of my own progress in my search to find my niche in the music industry. So much has changed this year, and so much will change next year, so I just want to share that with you all!
After the New Year
This section takes a bit more explaining, so here it goes:
- As I said before, there is no more Song of the Day. They got a bit irritating and I think they clogged up the blog too much, so people couldn't find the more important posts like interviews. The past ones will stay up, but there won't be any new ones.
-SotD will be replaced with 2-3 mini-playlists per week, each containing 7 or 8 songs depending on the week.
-Reviews and Playlists will still be international artists, but for the most part everything else will be in transition to only feature Western NY artists.
-Each type of post now has a specific day that it will come out on! Read on to see the schedule:

I think this is it for now! I might make a post later on this week also with who the interviews are with/what concerts I'm reviewing IF I get some comments asking for it. Let me know!

Update!
Just letting everyone know that rather than waiting for the new year, I will be slowly phasing out song of the days starting this week. I have a couple lined up already, and I might still do one every once in a while if it's a new song/video or something. But other than that, they will be slowly going away now!
Also, I have quite a few interviews lined up for this week, BUT they will not be posted until after the new year. I'll do an update later in the week with who I'm interviewing!
